Wanna One's 'Beautiful Part 3' Faces Possibility of Not Being Released + CJ ENM Releases Statement

Wanna One's 'Beautiful Part 3' May Not Be Released on January 27

Back on December 11, the "Produce 101" project boy group Wanna One delighted fans when they reunited for the first time in three years following their disbandment in December 2018 at the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), where they performed some of their hit songs, as well as unveil the unreleased "Beautiful Part 3," which is the third and final song in their "Beautiful" series.

Weeks after the heartwarming reunion of 10 of the 11 members of the group (minus Lai Kuan Lin), CJ ENM announced on January 11 that Wanna One will be releasing "Beautiful Part 3" officially on various music platforms.

In addition, it was also confirmed that Taiwanese member Lai Kuan Lin, who is currently promoting in China, had participated in the recording of his part for the song from his own studio, and sent it to the production team to complete the song with all 11 members.

According to CJ ENM, the song was originally scheduled to be released on January 27 at 6pm KST.

However, according to music industry officials on January 20, there has been a set-back with their plans to release "Beautiful Part 3," as it has been revealed that each of the members' contracts to release the song has not yet been completed, even though there is a week left before the song's targeted release date on January 27.

If all the Wanna One members are unable to sign the contract for the special song release before January 27, it would be unfortunate as January 27 is a meaningful day for the group's fans, Wannable, when Wanna One officially ended their activities together.

Regarding this, CJ ENM stated, "We have reached an oral agreement on the release date of the music, but the administrative process remains. In order to establish the proper process, we are currently inspecting based on our compliance standards and will take active supplementary measures if necessary."

CJ ENM Denies Wanna One's 'Beautiful Part 3' Not Being Released

Following reports of Wanna One not having completed their contracts for the release of "Beautiful Part 3," and that the song may face the possibility of not being released on time, CJ ENM has stepped up to release an official statement on January 21 KST.

According to CJ ENM, they have already finished negotiating with each of the members' respective labels, and that the release of "Beautiful Part 3" will go as planned.

"We have already finished our negotiations with all of the members' respective labels that the album would be released on January 27. It is true that with some of the members and their labels, there are a handful of administrative matters that are still in the process of being finalized. But we will do our best to finish the negotiations by the album's release date," CJ ENM said.
