Epic Games Store Reveals This Week's New Free Game

Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers across Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PC have five new games, including some very notable games at that, including one of the Xbox 360's most popular games. Unfortunately, this Xbox 360 game is limited to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate as it's an EA Play game. The other four games aren't burdened with this limitation though, and each is notable in its own right.

A new report has seemingly detailed when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will formally be revealed by Activision and Infinity Ward. Over the past couple of weeks, numerous different insiders and reports have claimed to know when Activision will plan to show off MW2 for the first time. And while Activision itself has clearly been changing its plans internally, it sounds like we finally have a new date to circle on the calendar.

Minecraft has revealed its latest official collaboration, which features content based on Angry Birds. Developed by official Minecraft partner Oreville Studios, the Angry Birds DLC puts players in the role of Red, as you work to free your kidnapped friends and recover stolen eggs. More characters become playable after being rescued, and their unique abilities will help to defeat the plans of the Pigs. The DLC is available now for 1,340 Minecoins, but players that want to rep Angry Birds in the game without spending any money can also get Red's Hoodie item in the game's Dressing Room for free.

Pokemon Unite players on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices can now subscribe to Pokemon Unite Club, a subscription service that offers set benefits each month. For $9.99, players will receive 40 Aeos Gems per day for logging in, an exclusive Holowear each month, weekly Trial Holowear, weekly trial Pokemon licenses, a 10% discount on fashion items, special portrait frames and chat bubbles, and a Hoopa-inspired fashion item for the player. The Pokemon Company has confirmed that the Hoopa fashion items, monthly Holowear, and Aeos Gems acquired from the Club will remain with the player, even if they cancel their subscription.

A new Grand Theft Auto V update is live on PC, PS4, and Xbox One alongside the patch notes which reveal everything that Update 1.60 does. Interestingly, the update has not been released via PS5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. It's unclear why, but it may have something to do with the minute nature of the update or be because these versions will get the update later. Netflix has been very quiet in regards to The Witcher Season 3, but a potential new cast member may have leaked. According to Redanian Intelligence, Rochelle Rose (Death in Paradise, Boxing Day) has joined the cast. The actress has apparently been seen on set, and the site believes she may be playing the role of Margarita Laux-Antille, a sorceress and friend to Yennifer of Vengerberg. Call of Duty has been printing money for years. As you would expect, this two-pronged monetization approach is going nowhere. In fact, if a new report is accurate, it's expanding.

Xbox Game Pass has today revealed the final slate of titles that subscribers on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC, and cloud devices will be able to access before May comes to a close. In total, Microsoft is adding 12 new games to Game Pass before the end of the month. Combined with the seven titles that have already come to the service in the past couple of weeks, this makes the Xbox Game Pass offering for May one of the more extensive lineups that we've seen so far in 2022.

Details on this new project from Techland are still sparse, but the studio is now looking to staff up for this game to begin working on it more heavily.
