ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. -- Escambia County offices, City of Pensacola offices and ECAT services will be closed Friday due to a winter weather advisory.
Escambia County courts will also close.
"Essential employees such as first responders and those contacted by their supervisors will be expected to maintain County operations," the county says in a release.
Escambia County offices that will close include:
- Escambia County Board of County Commissioners - all departments
- West Florida Public Libraries (all locations)
- The Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare
- Escambia County Property Appraiser
- Escambia County Tax Collector's Office
- Escambia County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller
- Supervisor of Elections Office
ECAT bus service, UWF Trolley and Pensacola Beach Trolley services will be suspended Friday. Escambia County Community Transportation (ECCT) will also suspend regular service on Friday, except for dialysis and life-sustaining services.
Felony arraignments in Escambia County courts will be reset to Friday, January 28 at 8:30 a.m. Traffic infraction hearings will also be rescheduled for a later date. Regular operations will resume Monday.
The closures in the City of Pensacola include:
- City of Pensacola administrative offices, including departments and divisions not located at City Hall
- City Hall
- City of Pensacola community resource centers
The exceptions are:
- Essential departments including Pensacola Fire Department and Pensacola Police Department will remain operational
- Pensacola International Airport will remain open. Check with airlines about potential flight delays (Pensacola International Airport Administration Offices will be closed)
City of Pensacola Sanitation Services will be operating on a delayed schedule due to weather conditions, with an anticipated start time of 10 a.m.
As a reminder, Sanitation Services are collecting Thursday routes on Friday due to the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday. Sanitation Services will resume a normal pickup schedule on Monday, Jan. 24.
The Perdido Landfill will remain open with regular hours.
"Escambia County Emergency Management is closely monitoring the potential for winter weather," the release states. "Residents are urged to do the same by monitoring our local media for the most up-to-date forecasts several times a day."
