9th STRAIGHT START FOR HELLEBUYCK
Because of all the changes to the schedule and the days off that have come with those changes, Connor Hellebuyck will make his ninth straight start in goal for the Jets tonight. This will be the second time in his career Hellebuyck has started nine straight games. The Michigan product is 4-3-1 in his previous eight starts and has allowed three goals or fewer in four of those eight games.

YUP, LINEUP CHANGES
First, Nikolaj Ehlers has been put on injured reserve by the Jets and is out indefinitely after he took a knee-on-knee hit from the Capitals Dmitry Orlov on Tuesday. His roster spot will be filled by Paul Stastny who is returning from COVID protocol and will join Mark Scheifele and Andrew Copp. Stastny will likely play some on the second power play unit as well. Evgeny Svechnikov also comes back replacing Kristian Reichel on the fourth line with Kristian Vesalainen and Dominic Toninato.

SCHEIFELE HEATING UP
Mark Scheifele did not win the Last Man In contest to book a ticket to Vegas for All-Star Weekend, but he continues to play well. Scheifele had two assists in Washington the other night and now has three multi-point games in his last six contests. Scheifele is now up to 13 points (2G-11A) away from Canada Life Centre which him ranked fourth on the Jets when it comes to road scoring.
PERFETTI CONFIDENCE
Cole Perfetti has looked more and more comfortable with Pierre-Luc Dubois and Kyle Connor. The opportunity presented to him by interim head coach Dave Lowry paid off on Tuesday when Perfetti recorded his first NHL goal in the first period against Washington. Perfetti will get another look with Connor and Dubois tonight against Nashville.
SAROS THE KEY
Juuse Saros has taken over for the since retired Pekka Rinne and has done an unbelievable job. Since March 18, 2021, Saros is 36-15-2 with a 2.11 goals against average in 53 starts. Saros leads the league this season with 16 quality starts and seven steals, according to Sportlogiq. A quality start is any in which a goaltender saves at least one goal above expected. A steal is earned when the number of goals saved above expected makes the difference in the outcome. For example, Saros saved three goals above expected in the Predators' 4-2 win against the Los Angeles Kings last week.
