Love of Kill Episode 3 will delve into Chateau and Ryang-ha's troubled past. The second episode did a good job at giving us hints, to keep us returning to the josei anime. The chemistry between the two main characters needs some work, however.

Love of Kill Episode 2 Recap
Love of Kill or Koroshi Ai, as is the show's original Japanese title, is based on a manga of the same name, written and illustrated by Fe. The story follows Chateau Dankworth, a quiet, stoic assassin, tasked with killing Son Ryang-ha - also a notorious killer, legendary for having killed 18 officials in one night. Their first encounter reveals that Song is also after Chateau.
As it turns out, though, he doesn't plan on persecuting her in the way you would expect. Song offers her gifts in the form of targets, and endeavors to get to know her better. In time, the two end up working together - but don't worry, the story is still more about action and mystery, rather than romance as such.
In the second episode, Chateau's boss is worried after having spotted her with Ryang-ha. The latter is after Cheateau's heart as much as ever, and I really wish I could ship this. Unfortunately, the tension seems one-sided for a moment and Ryang-ha's attention involves too much stalking. Of course, Ryang-ha and Chateau aren't supposed to be good people, so a healthy relationship dynamic isn't what you would expect.
If there was a reason for his interest in her, however, or if she truly found herself attracted in spite of herself, this would have been much more ship-worthy.
The way things are, Chateau still finds herself in trouble due to her association with Ryang-ha. An old enemy of his ambushes her, causing her to be involved in a car accident. Ryang-ha saves Chateau and treats her injuries, reminding her of a time in her childhood, when someone took care of her.

Love of Kill Episode 3 is going to air on Thursday, the 27th of January 2022, in Japan. Those in Europe, Canada, and the US will be able to watch it from Wednesday, January 26. Non-premium Crunchyroll users will have to wait an extra week, and there will be ads.
