The Cancer Gala & Co fundraiser originally scheduled for Feb. 19 at the Havener Center is now postponed to April 2.
Cancer Gala Board Chair Carolyn Buschjost detailed the move in a letter recently posted to sponsors. It states:
“Dear Sponsor, Thank you for your generous support of the 2022 Cancer Gala. We are looking forward to celebrating with you this year, however, our celebration will now be a little later than originally planned. Given the current conditions in our community, as well as the large number of tables already reserved, we are moving the date of the Gala to April 2, 2022. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us! We are fortunate to be able to retain our originally planned venue, caterer, and entertainment for the evening, and we promise to deliver an exceptional night out as always. Individual tickets for the new date will go on sale soon, and we still have raffle tickets available for the luxury trip to Blackberry Farm in the beautiful Smoky Mountains.
“If the past few years have taught us anything, we’ve learned that we must be flexible and make responsible decisions with our most vulnerable communities in mind. Thank you for your patience and continued support as we navigate these conditions to the best of our ability. Please reach out to us with any questions you may have.”
