The new Kirksville License Office is set to open on Valentine's Day.
The office will be located at 105 W. Potter Ave. in the Bank of Kirksville Suites strip mall.
In mid-December 2021, the state awarded a contract for a new office to Doug and Cheri LLC.
Doug and Cheri Galaske, of Clark, Mo., already operate the license offices in Macon and Keytesville.
Doug told KTVO Monday the office is currently getting a fresh coat of paint and new flooring, and the Galaskes officially get to start moving in on February 1, 2022.
Five new full-time employees have been hired, and they are currently training at the Macon License Office.
The Galaskes were among four bidders who applied to open a new Kirksville License Office.
The previous Kirksville License Bureau, operated by Judy Albin, of Kirksville, for nearly 30 years, closed on Nov. 5, 2021.
Albin got out of her contract a year early due to her various health problems and trouble hiring and retaining staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Galaske said the new location is scheduled to open at 8 a.m. on February 14.
