A Florida man has been arrested after he allegedly asked patrol officers if they needed any assistance while dressed in security gear.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Sunday in Miami.

Police reported that 32-year-old Louis Lugo asked if they needed any assistance with their patrol. While talking to Lugo authorities realized that he was dressed strangely for a civilian.

According to the report, Lugo was carrying a full-duty belt, including a black firearm, Taser, handcuffs, a radio, ASP baton, a badge and flashlight.

Authorities then asked if he was an police officer or a security guard.

Lugo responded, “No, I’m a security guard,” to the officers.

He was then asked to provide proof of his security job but Lugo was unable to do so.

Authorities then noticed lights on Lugo’s SUV Ford Explorer and saw a button inside that was labeled “pursuit.”

That’s when the officers decided to arrest him.

“At this time, it is a bit confusing and disturbing,” Officer Kiara Delva said about Lugo’s proposition to help officers while on duty. “We can confirm the officers made contact with this subject and arrested him.”

He is now facing charges of impersonating police officers and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
