Calgary Flames winger Milan Lucic leveled Edmonton Oilers goaltender Mike Smith during Game 3 of the Battle of Alberta. The Battle of Alberta between the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames has been filled with bad blood and a ton of goal scoring. The second-round series was tied at one game apiece entering Game 3 at Rogers Place in Edmonton. It was the Oilers who dominated, leading 4-0 in the third period, but that was when things got ugly.

Steven Matz was one of the Cardinals’ high-priced free agent addition this past offseason. Against the Pirates on Sunday morning, he was removed with an injury. Matz was just four pitches in to his eighth start of the season. The early happenings of his St. Louis career have not been positive, as he’s 3-3 with an ERA over six.
