Netflix has released the first look images of their upcoming series about Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco, known as the "Cocaine Godmother", who will be played by Sofia Vergara, and the Modern Family star looks completely unrecognisable after her transformation for the role.
The image is our first look at the upcoming series, titled Griselda, which is a dramatisation of the true story of the infamous Columbian drug lord, who headed up the Miami cocaine trade for the Medellin cartel during the 1980s and up until the early 2000s.
The series, which was first announced in November, stars Vergara as the ruthless Blanco, along with two Narcos: Mexico stars Alberto Ammann and José Zúñiga.
According to the official Netflix synopsis the series explores "A devoted mother, Blanco's lethal blend of charm and unsuspected savagery helped her expertly navigate between family and business leading her to become widely known as the 'Godmother'."
In a recent tweet the streamer shared our first look at Vergara's transformation for the role and we guarantee you'll have never seen her like this before.
For plenty of fans who've mostly only seen Vergara in comedy projects like Modern Family and Hot Pursuit, Griselda looks like an exciting opportunity to see her in a more dramatic role.
We can't wait to see Vergara tackle something with a bit of edge and especially from the team behind Narcos, who clearly know *exactly* what they're doing.
