Mills Sticks With B.J. McLeod Motorsports

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – B.J. McLeod Motorsports officials confirmed Thursday that driver Matt Mills will return for his sixth season with the team.

He will pilot the No. 5 Chevrolet with sponsorship from JF Electric and Utilitra. Both sponsors have committed to multi-year extensions with Mills.

“Matt (Mills) has been an important part of the growth of our race team the last several years,” said team owner B.J. McLeod. “He stuck with us through some growing pains and has helped make our organization better. I believe his commitment and hard work, with the addition of some key personnel will lead to success for Matt and the entire team.”

Mills has made 101 NASCAR Xfinity Series starts, nearly all of which have came while driving for B.J. McLeod Motorsports. He earned his best series finish in 2019 at Daytona Int’l Speedway, where he finished 10th during the Circle K Firecracker 250.

“I am excited for the 2022 season behind the wheel of the No. 5 Chevrolet,” Mills said. “We have shown flashes of speed over the past several seasons and with some of the changes and improvements B.J (McLeod) has made, there is a renewed sense of optimism and excitement throughout the whole organization.”

Mills joins Josh Williams, Stefan Parsons and Nick Sanchez as confirmed drivers for B.J. McLeod Motorsports this year.
