It appears that the Montreal Canadiens found another mid-round gem, this time in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. With the 138th overall pick, Montreal selected Danish goaltender Frederik Dichow and since he was drafted by the Canadiens, the 20-year-old has played quite well in Sweden.
Currently, Dichow is playing for Kristianstads IK in Sweden's second division, the HockeyAllsvenskan, where he's put up terrific numbers. In 20 games, he has a record of 13-6-0 with a 2.22 G.A.A., a .929 save percentage and three shutouts.
His strong play even garnered the attention of the Danish Ice Hockey Union, who earlier this week, named Dichow to their first-ever Olympic roster.
According to Johan Svensson of SportExpressen, Dichow has agreed to play for Frolunda HC in the Swedish Hockey League for the 2022-23 season. Svensson also added that there was a ton of interest in Dichow among SHL clubs.

"Now he has made a decision. Dichow chooses to play for Frölunda from next season. When his agent, Morten Green, is contacted in the matter, he is very clear that no contract has been signed anywhere. But SportExpressen's sources say that the choice falls on Frölunda," Svensson said.
The Vojens, Denmark native will get valuable experience at the 2022 Olympics and with Frolunda HC in the 2022-23 season before possibly making the jump to North America in Fall 2023.
