Pete Davidson has begun to annoy colleagues at “Saturday Night Live” for acting like a “diva” and missing rehearsals to be with his new girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, according to a report.

While Davidson, 28, appeared on the show last Saturday night, featuring guest host Ariana DeBose, he missed rehearsals in New York City earlier in the week to be with Kardashian, The Sun is reporting.

“Pete has become a total diva at SNL,” a source close to the show told The Sun. “He missed the first few days of rehearsal last week and was still allowed to be in Saturday’s show.”

“Normally, if you miss any rehearsals, you are out of the show on Saturday night, and the cast is starting to turn on him,” the source added.

It’s well known that “Saturday Night Live” must run like clockwork so that all its many moving parts — performers, writers, sketches, costumes and sets — come together in just six days. The show’s legendary creator and executive producer, Lorne Michaels, also is said to run a tight ship.

The Sun reported that Davidson was photographed with Kardashian, 41, in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, Jan. 11. They enjoyed a not-so-secret dinner date at a popular pizza restaurant, hugging and kissing in a booth, before they grabbed ice cream afterward at a nearby Rite-Aid.

According to a typical “Saturday Night Live” schedule, the writers spend Monday and Tuesdays furiously writing, sometimes never leaving the building. The entire cast then gathers on Wednesday afternoons for a long and intense read-through of all the sketches, many of which will be revised or cut entirely over the next three days of production and rehearsals. The Sun report doesn’t say which rehearsals Davidson supposedly missed.

Finally, on Saturdays, the cast participates in a dress rehearsal before a live audience that evening and  tapes the show live at 11:30 p.m.

Kardashian went through this process when she hosted the show in October. That’s when she and Davidson met and shared a kiss in an “Aladdin” sketch. A few weeks later, Kardashian and Davidson were seen holding hands at Knott’s Scary Farm in California and subsequently confirmed they were dating.

Because of the relationship, the New York City-based Davidson has reportedly been spending more time on the West Coast, and he and Kardashian jetted off to the Bahamas for a few days over the holidays.

Kardashian’s friends seem to think the comedian is good for the makeup and shapewear mogul, bringing some ease and fun to her life since she ended her often tumultuous marriage to Kanye West last year, according to Us Weekly and other outlets.

West, though, hasn’t taken his estranged wife’s new romance well, releasing a new song last week called “Eazy” that referenced Davidson, People reported. The rapper, who now calls himself Ye, alludes to his near-fatal car crash from 2002 and then raps, “God saved me from that crash/just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s ass.”

Meanwhile, Davidson’s “Saturday Night Live” friends have said they were glad about the romance — at least that’s what they said back in November, Elle reported, but at the same time, they sound a little confused now that he’s at the center of a romance with the social media superstar,

At the American Museum of Natural History’s 2021 Museum Gala, Kenan Thompson said, “I mean, you’ve got to be happy for love, I guess. If it’s love! They look like they’re having a good time.”

“I’m always happy when he’s happy,” added Thompson, a 18-season cast member who sees Davidson as a little brother.

Bowen Yang agreed, saying, “I don’t know what the nature of the friendship is, but it seems like they’re having a good time hanging out.”

Meanwhile, Chris Redd sounded impressed about Davidson’s famous new girlfriend.

“Pete and Kim? Damn, Pete. Damn!” said Redd.

Two months later, some “Saturday Night Live” colleagues may not be feeling so generous about the relationship, especially if it impacts the show or affords Davidson special treatment, according to The Sun.

A source said that Davidson now has security accompany him inside NBC’s headquarters, 30 Rockefeller Plaza, where “SNL” has been filmed in studio 8H since 1975. A report by Radar Online said that Davidson felt the security became necessary after West threatened to beat him up and because his romance with Kardashian has catapulted him to “superstar” status.

“He also now has security for when he’s outside the building,” the insider told The Sun, adding that Colin Jost, co-head writer and Weekend Update anchor, is married to Scarlett Johansson, “an actual movie star.”

“And yet Pete is getting more attention,” the source told The Sun.
