It's no secret that Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro, Pro Bowl, and future Hall Of Fame center Jason Kelce is contemplating retirement. And it's also no secret that the Eagles desperately want him to play as long as possible.
On Thursday, Angelo Cataldi asked Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni if he's trying to get the 34-year-old center back for another season.
"I sent him two kegs of beer yesterday," Sirianni joked. "You know what, he's awesome and I've told him how much we want him back. He's an unbelievable leader. Everything you hear about—if you don't know Jason Kelce personally, everything you hear about him is as advertised. He's awesome, he's a great leader, he's a great player. He's the backbone of this team, he's so smart as a football player, like he makes us go as a team. As long as Jason wants to play. I think in the middle of the year I said, 'You got five more years in you?' We laughed about it.
"But like as long as he wants to go, we want him to go. And I'll be trying to convince him every single day that I can to come back and play and we'll see how it goes. Ultimately, Jason has to do what's best for himself and what is best for his family. We would love the opportunity to have Jason Kelce back on this football to lead the way again."
This season Kelce had another dominant campaign, reaching his fifth Pro Bowl and earning his fourth time first-team All-Pro honors. Originally a sixth-round pick in 2011, Kelce has spent his entire career in midnight career.
"Everyone here is here for a f****** reason," Kelce told the team a few weeks ago. "All of you have talent! All of you add value to this organization. I have seen this s**t grow. When we play our game, nobody can f*** with us! I promise you! It ain't about them, it's about us."

Kelce and his wife Kylie now have two daughters, something that is likely weighing on Kelce's decision to return to football or not, a decision he has contemplated before.
"I’ve been thinking about it for last few years," Kelce said after the Bucs loss when asked about retirement. "But I will take time and talk to Family before any decision is made.”
