Holly Holm left UFC Vegas 55 with a loss on her record despite feeling she absolutely deserved a win over Ketlen Vieira. The judges disagreed with the former bantamweight champ. Mike Bell and Derek Cleary both scored the fight 48-47 for Vieira, while Sal D’Amato had it 48-47 for Holm. Bell and Cleary determined the outcome with Viera getting the nod by split decision.

Anderson Silva is still dazzling in the ring at 47 years old and it doesn’t look like he’s slowing down any time soon. In his latest boxing match, Silva put on a showcase against Bruno Machado including a vicious knockdown in the fifth round but the fight still made it to the final bell, which meant no winner was declared because the bout was contested as an exhibition.

UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling received a hero’s welcome during a “homecoming rally” in Uniondale, N.Y., to celebrate his title win. Sterling, an alum of Uniondale High, rode atop a Nassau County fire marshal truck and waved to onlookers with a full brass band in support. The UFC is bringing a full set of cards to Singapore Indoor Stadium in June. On Monday, the promotion announced the opening round eight-man tournament brackets across four weight classes for a pair of shows set to take place on June 9 and June 10 ahead of UFC 275 on June 11 in Singapore. Fighters hailing from China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand will vie for the right to sign a UFC contract.

Tabatha Ricci turned to her wrestling to score multiple takedowns on Polyana Viana to ultimately win a unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 55. Time after time, Ricci swooped inside and brought Viana crashing down to the canvas, which is where the majority of the fight took place. While it wasn’t the most exciting display, Ricci remained in control for most of the fight with Viana stuck playing defense off her back.

It wasn’t pretty but Jun Yong Park got the job done with a split decision win over Eryk Anders in the main card opener at UFC Vegas 55. It was a battle of attrition throughout with Park fending off more than 20 takedown attempts from Anders while attempting to land the better strikes on the feet. The fight wasn’t easy to score after three rounds but ultimately two judges gave Park the nod with a pair of 29-28 cards with the third official giving Anders the same 29-28 score.

Joseph Holmes may earn himself an extra $50,000 at the end of Saturday’s UFC event in Las Vegas for just over a minute of work. Holmes, who was making his second octagon appearance, took on Alen Amedovski in the featured preliminary bout of UFC Vegas 55 at the APEX. “Ugly Man” landed a brutal knee up the middle that had Amedovski badly hurt, dropping him, before pouncing on top with big shots and catching Amedovski in a rear naked choke, forcing the tap at 1:04 of the opening round.

Daniel Cormier thinks either he or the judges don’t know what they are doing. This past weekend, Cormier was on the commentary team for UFC Vegas 55 and, on two occasions, he felt like a fighter was robbed of a winning performance from the judges. In the main card opener, Jun Yong Park won a split decision over Eryk Anders, and in the main event, Holly Holm lost a split decision to Ketlen Vieira. In both instances, Cormier does not understand what the judges were scoring.

Jorge Masvidal isn’t hearing whatever beef Michel Pereira is selling. On Saturday, following a win over Santiago Ponzinibbio in the UFC Vegas 55 co-main event. Pereira called for a fight with Masvidal and later in the evening said that one of the reasons he wanted to face the “BMF” champion is because he was confused about Masvidal allegedly reaching out to his wife, Gina Amir, via direct message.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk has always been realistic about the time she has left in the sport. Even when she was on top of the world as UFC strawweight champion, the now 34-year-old Polish fighter was honest enough to admit that she wouldn’t be able to compete forever. While she didn’t exactly put a deadline on her career, Jedrzejczyk acknowledged her desire to eventually start a family while as well as the toll fighting takes on the body and mind over the years.

Michel Pereira had to battle it out through all three rounds but he fought his way to a split decision win over Santiago Ponzinibbio in the UFC Vegas 55 co-main event. The difference in the fight was largely centered around Pereira’s power as he blasted Ponzinibbio with the harder shots, although both welterweights certainly connected with a lot of strikes over 15 minutes. When it was over, two judges scored the fight 30-27 and 29-28 for Pereira with the third official going 29-28 for Ponzinibbio.
