Kathy Griffin Wants A Second Chance: Does She Deserve One?

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Kathy Griffin wants a second chance. In a new article in The New York Times, the comedian says was not just canceled, she was erased. It happened after taking that photo in 2017, holding a prop head covered in ketchup that resembled former President Donald Trump.

Griffin, who is known for how far she pushes the limits, faced immediate, tremendous and widespread backlash, as well as threats on her life. Her now-former friend, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, said what she did was unacceptable. Chelsea Clinton, no fan of Trump herself, said Griffin went too far. And Trump himself made his feelings known, too. Griffin even became the target of a Secret Service Investigation.

5 years later, she says faces even more obstacles in trying to find work, including lung cancer, her tainted reputation, and sexism. While she says she doesn’t need the money, she still wants to work.

Our question of the night: is there life after cancel culture?
