Alleged Video of BTS RM and BLACKPINK Jisoo Interacting Confuses Netizens and Causes Stir Online

On the global social media platform Instagram, a certain video of what appears to be BTS' rapper and leader RM and BLACKPINK's Jisoo interacting with each other has been garnering attention online.

In this video, which has since then received more than 27,000 likes and more than a hundred comments, features what seems to be RM and Jisoo crouching down closely to each other under the stage as they get ready to go up with their microphones.

While waiting for their cue to make their entrance on stage, the two can also be seen laughing and joking with each, as Jisoo comfortably taps RM on his shoulder to point at something or someone at the back - seemingly the fans who are witnessing the candid interaction between the two.

After seeing the video, numerous netizens became confused, wondering when such an interaction happened given that the pandemic restricted any interaction between our favorite K-Pop idols, moreso, it isn't often that we see BTS and BLACKPINK together in the same place.

The interaction is especially confusing for those who are new to BTS or BLACKPINK's fandom. While some expressed their confusion, some have also become excited of the two freely talking to each other.

However, longtime K-Pop fans, especially of BTS, knew when that certain moment happened and even revealed the truth behind it!

Truth Behind Alleged Video of BTS RM and BLACKPINK Jisoo's Interaction

Veteran ARMYs - BTS' fandom - revealed that the video was taken back on June 30, 2016, during the KCON held in New York.

And while the girl in the video does resemble Jisoo, it was actually solo artist and "Korea's Beyonce," Ailee, the singer behind numerous hit songs and official soundtracks such as "I Will Go to You Like the First Snow" from tvN's "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God."

Given that the event took place in June 2016, Jisoo couldn't have been present at the event as BLACKPINK only made their debut in August 2016, and was most likely busy preparing for their debut.

At that time, RM and Ailee were the MC duo for KCON New York, and the video that has been circulating is a behind-the-scenes video in which Ailee was constantly chatting with the BTS member.

In addition, the viral video also captured the moment when the fans had asked RM to do aegyo, but was too shy to do so. Ailee had then encouraged RM, to which he gave in and reluctantly did aegyo for fans before heading up on stage.
