TREASURE's Comeback Album 'THE SECOND STEP: Chapter One' Surpasses 600,000 Pre-orders

On January 20, YG Entertainment announced that the pre-orders for TREASURE's new album "THE SECOND STEP: Chapter One," which is currently on pre-order, have exceeded 600,000 copies as of January 19.

This result was reached in just eight days after the pre-order began last January 11. Moreover, aside from visual concept teasers of the members, it is noteworthy that TREASURE has proved their development as a K-pop group, considering that the mini-album has not yet been released with a tracklist.

In fact, in the first year of their debut, TREASURE's three single albums, which were released consecutively, each sold 240,000 to 280,000 copies.

Aside from that, their first full-length album sold about 360,000 copies. It can also be seen that this pre-order of 600,000 copies is twice the number of individual albums sold by TREASURE - it is so far the highest number among YG rookies.

With only a month remaining until the release of TREASURE's physical album, the full-fledged comeback promotion of the group has started. So the final number of the pre-orders is expected to increase higher.

TREASURE will release their first mini-album "THE SECOND STEP: Chapter One" on February 15. Many new songs and more active activities are expected from the group, that is why Treasure Makers' (TREASURE's fans) expectations are high.

YG had previously said, "Please look forward to TREASURE's 'second step', which will come like a storm this year."

TREASURE Releases Teaser Contents for Upcoming Album 'THE SECOND STEP: Chapter One'

On January 17, YG Entertainment released a teaser image of TREASURE ahead of their comeback.

Appearing in front of a colorful background, the twelve members of TREASURE are dressed in white outfits.

In addition, they featured impressive visuals with their delicate styling and confident expressions.

Moreover, interest in the form of jewelry drawn on the top of the poster and the pattern used as the background will be symbolically related to the new album is increasing.

TREASURE, which debuted in August 2020, drew attention as a rookie group that YG introduced about four years after BLACKPINK. It is a group that is aimed to be at the global market from the beginning.

Since then, TREASURE, which has proven its strong musical ability and friendly popularity, has established itself as a global rising star by recording cumulative sales of over 1.1 million albums.

TREASURE's Upcoming Album Made of Environment-Friendly Materials

TREASURE's physical album was produced in three forms: a photo book version, a digipack version, and a kit.

The photobook version is released with two different component images and includes a 150-page photo book, random photo cards, and stickers. In particular, a good response is expected as a "RARE FIND TREASURE CARD" is inserted in some of the first albums. 

The Digipack version will be released in 12 types using images of each member of TREASURE. It is equipped with a booklet with 16 pages, a folding poster where you can feel the new charm of TREASURE, and a lot of components such as a random selfie photo card. 

The kit album is prepared with 12 different back images. In addition, various types of photo cards and puzzle sets are included to increase the value of the collection.

"THE SECOND STEP: Chapter One" of TREASURE is packed with environmental protection materials, except for a few components, adding uniqueness to the kit album. The prints were made with FSC certified paper, low-carbon eco-friendly paper, soybean oil ink, and environmental protection coating.

The kit album is made of 100% FSC-certified recycled paper and biodegradable plastic. Moreover, packaging vinyl uses eco-friendly resins made from raw materials extracted from corn starch, providing a glimpse into the multifaceted efforts of TREASURE and YG Entertainment to protect the environment.

TREASURE announced the importance of protecting the environment and appealed for participation in saving the earth. The boy group begins their environmental protection cause by using environment-friendly materials on their album.
