Jacob DelVecchio (120) and Andrew Loniewski (132) each earned first-period pins while Jeffrey Jacome (113), Mark Molinaro (157) and Tyler Balent (165) pinned their respective opponents in the second period for South Plainfield (6-1), which has won three straight matches to bounce back from a narrow loss at the hands of No. 13 North Hunterdon.
Aidan MacKenzie got things off to a hot start for South Plainfield with a third-period pin in the first bout of the day at 215, with J.J. Giordano (144) earning a 21-6 tech fall with 10 seconds remaining in the third period.
Nicholas Campagna earned a 12-4 major decision at 150 for South Plainfield, which has scored 50 or more points in five of its seven head-to-head matches this year.
Aedan Boyle grinded out a 5-2 decision at 126 while Omar Cholula-Conde secured a first-period pin at 190 for Monroe, which falls to 11-2 with the loss.
