What to Watch For: Leicester vs. Spurs

The foxes hope to build some momentum heading into the second half of the season

Fresh off a FA Cup win, Leicester coupled some good injury news (finally) with a win against a top 6 rival that could kick-start a charge up the table during the second half of the season

1. The Health of the Foxes

This is always the main talking point these days, isn’t it? For once, there seems to be some good news. Rodgers will have a few of the first team regulars available for selection again, including a certain James Justin although only off the bench. Alongside Dewsbury-Hall, Luke Thomas, Caglar Soyuncu, Patson Daka, Bouba Soumare, and Ayoze Perez. Have the foxes finally gotten through this injury crisis?

Breaking: Of course I had to say something. Timothy Castagne is now out 8-9 weeks after an operation.

2. Harry Kane vs... whoever we play in defense

With Evans, Fofana, Castagne, and Pereira all out injured along with Amartey and Ndidi being at AFCON, the foxes are dangerously thin at the back. Couple this with an admittedly out of form Harry Kane likely starting up front for Spurs, things are rather terrifying. Kane is still a class striker even with his dip in form this season and the foxes have a rather leaky defense. Luckily Son will be out of the Spurs lineup tomorrow. Even so, if Leicester are to keep Kane from scoring, some players will have to seriously step up.

3. The Form of Madders and Tielemans

The rise back to form of James Maddison and the continued output of Youri Tielemans has been a big reason for the ability for the foxes to keep their heads above water during what was a rough first half of the season. No midfield duo has contributed more goals and assists than these two. If Leicester want to get three points, some creativity will have to come from one of these two players. Madders has been in winning form as of late, so hopefully he will continue his form and add some more goals and assists.

As always, hit the comments with your thoughts or concerns. Let’s talk.
