The Giants have yet to complete their second round of interviews for the general manager finalists, but they have reportedly begun the process of searching for their next head coach.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, New York has requested to interview Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, as Big Blue could try and pluck Quinn from a division rival to take over for Joe Judge.

Quinn, who just interviewed with the Vikings for their head coaching vacancy on Tuesday, just completed his first season in Dallas after the Cowboys were bounced by the 49ers in the NFC Wild Card round. He was the Falcons head coach from 2015 to 2020, reaching the Super Bowl in 2016 in just his second year at the helm before infamously coughing up a 28-3 lead against the Patriots.

Quinn, a native of nearby Morristown, New Jersey, would bring some familiarity with the New York area, as he was the Jets defensive line coach from 2007 to 2008. He has also served as the Seahawks defensive coordinator from 2013 to 2014.

Giants co-owner John Mara has said that he would prefer to name a general manager before moving on to the head coaching vacancy, but that GM search could be nearing an end, as the team has already completed second interviews with multiple finalists. Clearly, the team is already getting the ball rolling on their next offseason priority.
