The Ford Bronco Raptor is slated to be introduced later this year, but it isn’t the only new Bronco on the horizon as the company has already confirmed plans for an Everglades variant.
It continues its slow march to production as Ford’s Mike Levine has tweeted pictures of the SUV undergoing testing in a “notorious snow drift spot in the mountains above Death Valley.”
There’s no word on how much snow was on the ground, but we can get a good estimate as the Bronco Everglades is slated to feature unique wheels wrapped in 35-inch Goodyear Territory MT tires. The latter give four-door Broncos 11.5 inches (292 mm) of ground clearance, so it’s safe to assume there was roughly that much snow on the ground as we can see apparent drag marks.

Of course, the Bronco Everglades is more notable for featuring a factory-installed winch and snorkel. The latter could improve the Bronco’s water fording capability of up to 33.5 inches (851 mm), while the former is slated to be a factory-installed version of the currently available $3,500 winch kit.
The kit requires the heavy duty modular front bumper and includes a 10,000 lbs (4,536 kg) Warn winch with 100 feet (30 meters) of line as well as a wired remote. While the winch could come in handy, it will likely preclude the Bronco Everglades from offering adaptive cruise control.
The Bronco Everglades will be available this summer and likely come standard with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine developing up to 300 hp (224 kW / 304 PS) and 325 lb-ft (440 Nm) of torque. Customers should also be able to order a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, which produces up to 330 hp (246 kW / 335 PS) and 415 lb-ft (562 Nm) of torque.
