The NHL has announced an update to the rest of its regular season schedule, using the previously planned Olympic break as a period to make up games that were postponed by COVID-19 outbreaks earlier this season. For the Red Wings, that brings five additional games in February and March, including three at home.

The NHL intends to complete the season by its original closing date of April 29.

Detroit had eight games rescheduled in total. The three at home come Feb. 12 against Philadelphia, originally scheduled for Feb. 23; Feb. 23 against Colorado, originally scheduled for Dec. 20; and Feb. 26 against Toronto, originally scheduled for April 26.

The Wings, who had several games postponed due to a COVID outbreak in the days before Christmas, also have make-ups on the road Feb. 9 against Philadelphia, Feb. 14 against Minnesota, Feb. 17 against the Rangers and March 24 against the Islanders.
