Megumi unleashes his Domain Expansion, but Reggie immediately counters. He activates his Shadow-Style Simple Domain, Hollow Wicker Basket, to neutralize Megumi's Domain so that the "guaranteed hit" condition is negated. However, Megumi releases his Toads to catch Reggie's ankles. The narration explains that Reggie's Hollow Wicker Basket and Simple Domain do not have the ability to nullify a cursed technique. While these techniques cancel out the "guaranteed hit" condition in a barrier loaded with a cursed technique, Megumi's Domain is not complete.
It seems complete since he turned the gymnasium into his Domain, but it actually does not have the "can't miss attack" condition. So his Domain Expansion acts just as an extension of his Ten Shadows cursed technique. This incompleteness momentarily distracted Reggie and gave Megumi a chance to land a series of punches.
Reggie gets his footing back, and counterattacks, but Megumi quickly responds. Reggie eventually realizes that Megumi's barrier does not have the "can't miss attack" condition. But he also figures out that this makes Megumi's cursed technique more powerful. He unleashes three vehicles and sees Megumi crouched down. Reggie thinks that Megumi still needs to carry the weight of whatever's in his shadow, so he plans to crush him with his own weight.
Megumi tells Reggie that he missed the fact that there's also a shadow right above him. Refusing to back down, Megumi then releases the Max Elephant shikigami.

Megumi manages to carry around 40 tons worth of weight. Reggie is injured because of the Max Elephant. He uses a truck to attempt to escape the shadow and unleashes a building to try to crush Megumi. However, Reggie ends up surrounded by water, which is actually from the swimming pool inside the gymnasium.
Megumi managed to dispel his Domain Expansion without Reggie noticing. Reggie can still use his technique despite getting wet, but he doesn't have enough cursed energy anymore. He gets bitten by the Divine Dog, effectively losing the battle.
