Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Warren Fox has been left for dead in a hit-and-run crash in Hollyoaks.

A lingering plot strand over the last few weeks has seen someone looking into Warren's past, including stealing his case file from therapist Honour's office. That file included his confession to running down Brody.

Warren has no idea anyone is after him, as he's been preoccupied with trying to convince a sceptical Maxine that they should move in together.

Maxine explained to Warren that she hopes they move in together someday, but she was still being haunted in her nightmares over her experience with Fergus.

"My mum swans off to Tinseltown and leaves me with a dad I barely know," she added. "It's just a lot."

Warren took son Joel's advice to take his time with Maxine so he agreed to move at her pace going forward. He promised he'd wait "as long as it takes" because Max is "worth waiting for".

He later ran into former flame Sienna in the village, and she once again tried to tempt him into getting back together. Sienna managed to spot that someone was watching them, but the culprit ran off before they could be caught.

Sienna would later bring Warren into her feud with Ethan by insisting her ex would protect her from any harm. Ethan then warned: "Not if I get to Warren Fox first!"

In the final scenes of the night, Maxine turned up for her date night with Warren and jokingly encouraged him not to "mess it up". When Warren sent Max inside while he retrieved his wallet from the car, all hell broke loose.

Warren was so distracted by Sienna calling him once again that he didn't even notice a blue car stalking him through the lot. He was debating to answer Sienna's desperate calls when the blue car knocked him over head-on.

The car quickly pulled around to make a hasty retreat, leaving Warren for dead in the middle of the road. Is Ethan the one who has run down Warren?
