by William D'Angelo , posted on 01 February 2022 / 2,610 ViewsRockstar Games released Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Rockstar Games Launcher in November 2021.
The remasters included in the collection were criticized for being lackluster, as well as having multiple technical issues. Rockstar even released a letter to apologize for the state of the remasters with plans to fix the games.
Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Rockstar's parent company Take-Two, in an interview with CNBC has said Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition "has done just great for the company."
"Unquestionably we expect our earnings to be less episodic," said Zelnick. "This will give us a larger, more diversified financial and creative footprint. And we think that’ll benefit shareholders.
"And with regards to the GTA trilogy, that was actually not a new title. That was a remaster of preexisting titles. We did have a glitch in the beginning, that glitch was resolved. And the title of has done just great for the company.
"So we’re very excited. We have an amazing pipeline going forward. Zynga has an incredible pipeline going forward. And together, we think we can do a whole lot more than what’s already been announced."

Prime example of why you need to 'speak with your wallet', the big wigs don't look or care that they released a broken mess, because enough people paid them already for said mess.
How well did it actually sell? Does anyone know? This sounds a lot more like PR spin on a game that didn't sell so well.
It was high on the eshop for over a month. Idk about other stores, but it must have been even stronger there.
I guess that's something. But it's a little suspect that they didn't give out actual numbers. Unless they did and I'm just ignorant of it.
But for instance, if it sold like 5 or 10 million copies, they'd be trumpeting that information, right? Let's say it was 3 million though. Pretty bad for a trilogy of a popular series across 4 platforms. That would be more than it deserves, but not something they would want to brag about.
"a glitch in the beginning"

Oh....
Poor choice of words for a game that is well known to have upset many gamers. Sold well? probably due to the name, did it please the buyers? certaintly not.
should of handled ports in house they have multiple studios and 2000+ devs and they still outsourced it to a dev that only has experiance in mobile gaming
Done great at what exactly?
They had "a glitch"?!? Is this some kind of troll? There were a thousand glitches ffs!
