The Philadelphia Eagles have wasted no time in coming out and saying that Jalen Hurts is the team’s starting quarterback moving forward.

Countless Philadelphia Eagles fans had an upset on their minds going up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last weekend. Instead, Tom Brady reminded everyone of why he’s the GOAT, powering the defending Super Bowl champs to a dominant win.

From that moment, folks were quite frustrated with quarterback Jalen Hurts, as he really had a tough showing. Despite that, Howie Roseman has come out and made it clear that Hurts will be his guy under center once Week 1 rolls around next fall.

Jalen Hurts isn’t in jeopardy of losing the Eagles starting QB job

In the 31-15 loss to the Bucs, Hurts finished with 258 yards, one touchdown, but two interceptions. One of his picks came deep in Tampa Bay territory, with him trying to force the ball into the end zone. It was a play that had fans all over Philadelphia scratching their heads.

With that said, Hurts did more than enough to help his team get to the playoffs, with his dual-threat abilities really making him look special at times this year. What’s been an issue for him has been consistency.

He can dazzle on one play, but then make a bone-headed mistake the next. At just 23 years old, Hurts’ best football is still ahead of him and the Eagles aren’t even close to giving up on him just yet.

Come 2022, though, there’s going to be a ton of pressure on Hurts to step his game up and put the Eagles in a position to go on a deep postseason run. If he doesn’t do that, then there could be a completely different conversation next offseason.
