The BEST Things We Overheard in Disney World This Week

From funny rumors to unbelievable observations, you can overhear some pretty…interesting things when you’re visiting Disney World.

Magic Kingdom

It’s become pretty common for us to have a little giggle as we make our way around the parks and overhear things like “let’s go ride the rat ride next” (aka Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure) or “you need a virtual ticket” (also known as a boarding group). And, every once in a while, we just can’t keep the comments to ourselves, so today we’re sharing with you the best things we overheard in Disney World this week!

“What is the deal with the pink dinosaur everyone is carrying around???”

If you’ve been keeping up with AllEars (or any Disney news source for that matter) this week, then you’re probably familiar with the Figment Popcorn Bucket craze.

Figment Popcorn Bucket!

The adorable purple dragon made his debut in popcorn bucket form at the EPCOT Festival of the Arts on Friday and fans flocked to the Pop Eats booth waiting HOURS to secure the collectible multiple days in a row.

Line for Pop Eats

Now, we long-time Disney fans are pretty familiar with the popcorn bucket excitement (and the lengths that people are willing to go to in order to secure one), but some day guests were a bit confused by the whole situation.

In fact, as we made our way around World Showcase over the weekend to try out all the eats and drinks, we overheard a guest turn to their family and say “what is the deal with the pink dinosaur everyone is carrying around???”

Our Figment Bucket enjoyed a tour around World Showcase!

Pink dinosaur, purple dinosaur, Figment…whatever works really! We can only imagine what was going through their mind as they noticed a growing number of Figments floating around the park. But, it’s clear that you really need to know about Figment to understand the buzz around the bucket.

“I need to remove my spine.”

Disney World was built to be a family-friendly park, but not all of the rides are “friendly” to our adult bodies. Whether it’s having to figure out a way to get out of the boats on “it’s a small world” without rolling onto all fours to stand up or getting jostled just a little too much on Space Mountain, your body can certainly take a beating.

And, someone this week felt that on a deep level, as we overhead a guest getting off of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad say “I need to remove my spine.” As people who have heard their back crack one too many times on the same ride — we feel you.

“Where’s the Millennial Falcon?”

Speaking of Disney World rides, there are a lot of them to keep track of and it can be easy to get them confused! For example, a reader once shared that they overheard a guest telling their friend on Star Tours that “No, this is not Tower of Terror.”And, hey, we get it — you’re walking into a room full of rows with a screen in front. That’s kind of similar!

Star Tours

But, this week we got some enjoyment out of something we overheard in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

As we were making our way around the land, we heard a guest asking a Cast Member “Where’s the Millennial Falcon?” That’s…pretty close, right?! To be fair, there are a lot of Star Wars terms to keep straight, and the difference between millennial and millennium…minimal.

So, among the long wait that we endured for a Figment Popcorn Bucket, the arrival of Florida’s “winter,” and other unexpected things that happened in Disney World this week, it was nice to have a little laugh. And, now we’re curious — what are the craziest things that YOU have heard in the Disney Parks?
