A second suspect has been charged with capital murder in the shooting death of a 16-year-old boy in Northport.
Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit Capt. Jack Kennedy said because the suspect is under the age of 18, no identifying information will be released. The suspect was taken into custody Tuesday night and will be charged as an adult in the slaying of David Martin Jr.
Authorities previously announced the arrest of 18-year-old Ladamien Rogers-Wallace, also on capital murder in Martin’s death.
Northport police responded at 2:53 p.m. Monday to the Valley Hills public housing community on a report of a person shot. They arrived to find the Martin in a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
A motive has not been disclosed. Kennedy said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests could be made.
