Emmerdale's Jacob to struggle with anger after Meena revelations

Emmerdale's Jacob Gallagher is set to struggle with his anger across the ITV soap's upcoming episodes, having learned that his ex-girlfriend Leanna Cavanagh was killed by Meena Jutla.

Last week, Meena's plot to kill sister Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) was thwarted when the latter escaped her clutches with the help of Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) and Leanna's father Liam (Jonny McPherson).

Thinking Meena (Paige Sandhu) was knocked out cold elsewhere, Manpreet and Vinny tearfully told Liam that Leanna (Mimi Slinger) hadn't fallen off a bridge, as they'd all previously suspected, but that she was murdered. And of course, the sad news made its way back to the village, devastating Jacob.

In scenes scheduled to air from Monday, January 24 onwards, Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) and Liam will be left gut-punched yet again when DS Rogers informs them that he's received a tip about Meena, and that she's assumed to have left the country following her altercation with Liam and – as only viewers know – her impromptu hitchhike to Scotland.

Seething at the thought of Meena getting away with everything, Jacob lashes out at Vinny and storms off.

Later, the youngster's mother Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) finds him sitting by Leanna's grave. Contemplating what Jacob's former stepfather David would do in said situation, Leyla comes up with an idea to help Jacob through his pain. But will it work, especially when Meena returns to potentially finish what she started and cause more heartbreak?
