New faces on the sidelines entering 2022 season

Bluffton High School and Bacon County High School have both introduced new head football coaches this week.Bluffton has named Hayden Gregory as the new head coach of the Bobcats.Gregory comes to the South Carolina Lowcountry from Georgia. He most recently served as an assistant coach at Collins Hill High School near Atlanta.Gregory becomes the fifth head coach in Bobcat history, he replaces John Houpt, who resigned following the 2021 campaign.Meanwhile, in Alma, veteran coach Mark Wilson takes over at Bacon County High School.Wilson has over 30 years experience in teaching and coaching in the state of Georgia. Most recently, he was head coach at Taylor County High School.Under his leadership, Taylor County has been to the GHSA state playoffs each of the last five seasons.Wilson also has head coaching stops at Jefferson, Lamar County, White County, Americus-Sumter and Bryan County.In 2011, as head coach, he led Bryan County to its first winning season in 20 years. In 2012 the team moved up to AA and in 2013 they had the best season in school history, making the AA playoffs for the first time. In 2014 the Bryan County Redskins made the AA playoffs.
