The Sacramento Kings seem to be so desperate to make a big splash ahead of the rapidly approaching NBA trade deadline that they are now willing to put De'Aaron Fox in a package they hope would be enough to entice the Indiana Pacers into giving up Domantas Sabonis.

Via Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee:

A league source told The Sacramento Bee the Kings have stepped up their pursuit of Indiana Pacers big man Domantas Sabonis and they are including Fox in those discussions. Fox was so far off the table he wasn’t discussed when the Kings approached the Philadelphia 76ers about Ben Simmons last summer, sources with knowledge of the talks told The Bee, but now Fox is reportedly part of those conversations as well.

There are a number of Kings assets that have been constantly in trade rumors, but Fox usually isn't part of that group. Buddy Hield, Marvin Bagley III, Harrison Barnes, and Richaun Holmes have been the most talked-about names in terms of potential Sacramento trades, but with Fox now seemingly no longer untouchable, expect things to heat up even more for the Kings as the trade deadline nears.

Fox is going to be an expensive get, as he's due to earn at least $30 million in each season starting 2022-23 until it expires at the end of the 2025-26 campaign. Meanwhile, Sabonis is due at least $18.5 million per season until the conclusion of the 2023-24 season.
