Pennsylvania Senate leader calls to impeach Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio KDKA) - Pennsylvania Senate President Pro Tempore Jake Corman called on State House leaders to begin impeachment proceedings against Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner.

"He's created a city of violence," Corman said during the KDKA Radio Morning Show Wednesday. "Of all the gun crimes happening in Philadelphia, he's brought charges on about 20% of them, and only about 10% of them actually led to convictions or pleas. So, he's just allowed the city to become a place of crime."

Corman understands why people would accuse him of bringing attention to his campaign for Pennsylvania Governor, but he does not care.

"It is about calling attention to the crime in Philadelphia." said Corman. "It's calling attention to these policies that have led to this culture. And you know, if the fact that people think I'm being political actually leads to change, and leads to this issue being addressed, then so be it."
