They’re back. With so many wrestlers in WWE today, it can be difficult to remember who everyone is and what everyone is doing. A lot of the time, these wrestlers need something that makes you stand out among the rest, with the best way often being a big return. That can be hard to pull off, but WWE tried it in two ways this week on the same television show in the same night.

There were two returns this week on NXT, with a pair of wrestlers making their first appearances in several weeks. First, Dante Chen made his return, saying that he had suffered a leg injury to put him on the shelf. Chen also said that he had been inspired to improve his career by the death of his father. He would face Guru Raaj in a match that went to a double disqualification when Duke Hudson interfered. This was Chen’s first match on NXT since September 21, 2021.

Later in the show, Sarray returned in a vignette, though she did not appear in the arena or in a match. Sarray has been in Japan for several weeks but said that she found a necklace left to her by her grandmother. Her most recent match on NXT took place on November 9, 2021, when she was defeated by Kay Lee Ray. There is no word on when she will be returning to the ring.

Opinion: NXT is in a unique place where the wrestlers are trying to do something fresh and seeing what sticks. It seems that Chen and Sarray did not get off to the best start, with Sarray mentioning that she did not do so well in her early run. Instead, NXT seems to have hit the reset button on both of them and that is a pretty good idea. Hopefully things go better the second time around, and it seems that WWE seems to get the fact that there is a problem to be solved.
