It seems like Kid Cudi will now be part of the MCU, but not as an actor - but his single is featured on a recently dropped "Moon Knight" trailer.

The music featured in the trailer for Marvel's "Moon Knight" is a remix of Kid Cudi's Day 'N' Nite.

A sample from Kid Cudi's song, "A Kid Named Cudi," which appeared on the artist's 2008 mixtape, A Kid Named Cudi, was played in the background of a pulsating handful of vibrating synthwave notes.

Additionally, it was included as the lead single on his debut studio album, "Man on the Moon: The End of Day", which was released in 2009.

The song, which was written and co-produced by Kid Cudi and Brooklyn-based producer Dot da Genius, is very briefly used in the trailer.

The words "day and night" and "now hold the phone" represent the scenario in which Marc receives a phone call being played.

The "day and night" lyrics are highlighted in the trailer to play with the "knight" of Moon Knight and portray Spector's mental disarray during the day and his vigilante activities throughout the night.

More of the music and composer

Hearing some strong electronic music that accompanied Kid Cudi's song, it is not expected that this sort of music would be featured in the show itself.

As of writing, no composer for Moon Knight has been named.

But, Marvel has an extensive and diversified list of composers who have worked on various projects in the past.

A significant focus for Christophe Beck has been the Marvel Disney Plus series WandaVision and Hawkeye.

However, both of these soundtracks have a light and fun tone at times, which may not be a good fit for Moon Knight's more serious tone.

Additionally, Michael Giacchino is a veteran of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's musical side, having composed the scores for all of the MCU's Spider-Man films as well as Doctor Strange.

On the other hand, Giacchino may have been preoccupied with scoring No Way Home and the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder to devote time to add Moon Knight to his resume.

Moon Knight will star Golden Globe Awardee Oscar Isaac, premiering on March 30, 2022, on Disney Plus.
