UPDATE 8:00 a.m.

Lewisville Police have found a 10-year-old boy who had been missing since Tuesday afternoon. They say Simon Lian was playing in a relative's backyard on Dewberry Drive, near Fox Avenue and South Valley Parkway about 4:30 Tuesday.

Police say Lian walked out of an open gate, and his family could not find him. Police posted his picture on social media, asking anyone who might see him to call.

"We started noticing a lot of responses from people in the neighborhood when we put his picture up on social media," says the Lewisville Police Department's Matt Martucci. "Several people said they recognized him; several others said he was in the neighborhood."

About 7:40 Wednesday morning, Martucci says Lian's principal saw the boy walk into his elementary school.

"That kind of awareness helped out," he says. "It's also good LISD was involved in this as well, so they were able to recognize and tell us when he showed up at school."

Martucci says, although Lian spent the night outside, he was not hurt. He says investigators will now talk to Lian to figure out where he spent the night.

"Investigators are now going to meet with the child and with his family to try to figure out what happened since 4:30 yesterday," he says.
