JACKSON, MI – David Rose and Fanta are just two of the many animals at Cascades Humane Society that are looking for loving forever homes.
David Rose has been at CHS since July, and for months he’s watched other dogs be adopted before him and wondered why he wasn’t wanted. Staff and volunteers think he is the cutest little guy.
David Rose came to CHS at a crucial and vulnerable time in his life at just under a year old. Dogs at that age should be learning proper manners, commands, and how to “dog” in general. David Rose still has a ton of puppy-like energy and can be a bit mouthy.
A lot of pets can mean it is time to bounce around and a leash becomes a chew toy when connected to him. He becomes overstimulated very quickly. David Rose is a very smart dog with so much hidden capabilities, but he needs someone who is willing to pull that potential out of him with training.
David Rose would do best in a home with no other animals and no young children. He needs to learn how to become the best version of himself before finding new friends. Are you able to provide David Rose a supportive and loving household?
Fanta is named for the orange pop because of, yes, you guessed it, her orange coloring. And, like the sugary drink, she is super sweet.
Fanta loves to lay and stretch and roll around to maximize the pets she receives. She has a lovely motor and likes to knead with her paws. She is one awesome cat.
Fanta is just 3 years old and is already spayed, has been brought up to date on vaccines, microchipped and has tested negative for Felv/FIV.
Cascades Humane Society, 1515 Carmen Drive, is open to the public from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
All dogs and cats at Cascades Humane Society have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and given parasite protection prior to adoption. Those who adopt pets also receive a free wellness checkup from any of 24 area veterinarians.
Dog owners wishing to adopt another dog are required to do a meet and greet with their dog and the dog they’re choosing to adopt.
CHS also has added services to its Spay and Neuter Assistance Program. The service, available during scheduled spay or neuter surgeries, includes vaccines, heartworm testing for dogs, FIV and FeLV testing for cats and dental procedures.
CHS also has a Pet Food Pantry to help families going through financial hardship. CHS accepts cat or dog food donations, as long as the food is in its original packaging. Donors can drop off food by the pole barn behind the facility. The Pet Food Pantry is open from noon to 2 p.m. on the first Saturday of the month.
