10h agoA Paterson police officer has been indicted on federal charges.
Court documents say that he attacked a Paterson man and tried to cover it up.
In December 2020 when the incident happened, Kevin Patino allegedly approached the victim by striking him in the face and body numerous times.
Prosecutors say he then filed police reports, with fake statements regarding the arrest.
Now Patino faces charges of conspiracy, civil rights depravation, and obstruction.
