Charles Walter Franklin, 82, of Hayesville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022.
He was the son of the late Grady and Josephine Hughes Franklin.
Charles had been a manager for Coble. He had graduated from Hayesville High School and loved gardening, hunting and fishing.
Charles was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Franklin; and sisters, Francis Dobbins and Bonnie Bryson.
Surviving is a daughter, Linda Franklin; a son, Charles Edward Franklin and wife Janet; grandchildren, Tiegha Franklin, Kain Franklin, Cody Ownbey, Dylan Ownbey and Delilah Ownbey; and great-grandchildren, Uriah, Charlie and Rylie.
Graveside services were held at noon Friday, Jan. 14, at Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery with the Revs. Rondal Brown and Aud Brown officiating. Pallbearers were Andrew Brown, Timothy Brown, Cody Ownbey, Dylan Ownbey, Paul Lipoff and Donovan Burke.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made toward the funeral expenses.
Townson-Rose Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
