Rainbow Six Extraction will also be on Xbox Game Pass, so it will be free for subscribers to play once it launches. In other news, Ubisoft+ is also planning to arrive on Xbox consoles, meaning that Rainbow Six Extraction could be the first title to begin incorporating their games from other platforms. Not a bad start, really.

The Rainbow Six video game franchise is based on a 1998 novel of the same name written by well-known author Tom Clancy. It began as a single-player tactical shooter in which the player joined a counter-terrorist group called Rainbow, which was made of expert soldiers from around the world. It has gone through many changes since then, such as going from single-player to multiplayer co-op, as well as loot boxes and more competitive play; however, the core of the game stays the same: fighting terrorist organizations with friends.

The most recent release in the series, Rainbow Six: Siege, received favorable reviews upon release and has since become popular within the eSports community. It won Esports Title of the Year at the 2017 Australian Game Awards and was nominated for Best eSports Game at the Famitsu Dengeki 2019 Game Awards.

Now the series continues. For those who have not pre-ordered or cannot pre-order Rainbow Six Extraction due to streaming restrictions, look forward to jumping into the action on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Google Stadia, Amazon Luna, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S consoles on January 20.
