Report: High Profile Free Agent Hires Scott Boras

Despite the Major League Baseball lockout, major league players are making moves. The most recent is free agent Carlos Correa and his switch to mega agent Scott Boras according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.

Correa, who was apart of the cheating scandal that saw the Houston Astros win the 2017 World Series, is one of the hottest remaining free agents on the market. At just 27-years-old, Correa is in his prime when it comes to contributing to a baseball franchise.

However, Correa saw an injury-plagued career in 2019, but rebounded in 2021 slashing .279/.366/.486. That was a far cry from his 2017 season, in which he hit .315/.391/.550 with 24 home runs, a career year. 

Correa is the top remaining shortstop in the free agent market, but doubts surrounding his performance outside of the Astros organization have raised doubts to his viability long term to a competing franchise looking to employ his services.

There is little doubt that agent Scott Boras will try to extract the full value that he believes his client deserves going forward.
