FOX To Expand On Animation Domination Mondays Starting In 2023

FOX’s push into adult animation has been a frenzy the last couple of years with numerous orders for pilots, presentations, and full series the network is going to need a place to put all of this content! While we await a season renewal for Tubi’s The Freak Brothers (of which the social channel keeps teasing that news is coming soon in that regard), FOX is also taking good care of it’s linear efforts by announcing an expansion of the Adult Animation Monday night lineup to two hours! The Monday night lineup debuted in 2021 with series Housebroken and Duncanville and now FOX is telling Deadline that a two-hour/four show expansion is coming May 2023 and that series like Krapopolis and Grimsburg are expected to be part of that lineup and that Michael Thorn expects more series orders sometime by the Spring 2022.

Our Take

Animation Domination’s franchises are iconic, in fact, Tom Brady even developed a hoodie inspired by the one seen on The Simpsons. So it will be interesting to see which new franchise FOX premieres in the next couple of years that can truly anchor a lineup like it has now with The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob’s Burgers, all series that not only get solid ratings but does very well with merchandise, streaming, syndicated TV, and multiple award accolades.
