English Dub Review: Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro “You Got Your Wish, Senpai/ ‘Sup, Senpai?!”

Overview:

Nagatoro torments Senpai by threatening to suck his blood like a vampire and by making him play a nipple-finding game. Senpai escapes to a family restaurant, where he runs into Nagatoro and her friends and discovers something surprising.

Our Take:

We’re back with this week’s episode of sexual harassment, I mean Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro. I really think if the roles were reversed here that would be a HUGE issue but maybe that’s just me. Also guess we are leaning into the old adage of “If they tease you, they like you” with this episode. Senpai happens to overhear Nagatoro on a blind date. He thinks she is going to rip him a new one and tease him but instead just kind of tells them off.

I think it’s interesting when shows talk crap about a trope but then do the trope. That might of come across as sarcasm but I really mean it. Nagatoro is making fun of Senpai for liking the “Lucky Pervert” trope and then it happens to him! Lucky for him I guess but one thing I do like is seeing the cracks in Nagatoro’s facade. There are certain times she gets legitimately embarrassed when something lewd actually happens. This show has a long way to go before I call it good but it’s still early and it can do better I think.
