Sydney Thunder quick Mohammad Hasnain is set to undergo testing for a suspect bowling action, after Big Bash umpires raised concerns during a recent game.

The 21-year-old was enormous for the Thunder during his short time in the BBL, bursting onto the scene with three wickets in his debut.

Hasnain was bowling upwards of 150km/hr during his games for the franchise, but it's now been confirmed by Cricket Australia that he will be subject to testing after umpires reported him on January 2nd.

"Sydney Thunder bowler Mohammad Hasnain was reported for a suspected illegal bowling action after playing in a KFC Big Bash League game against Adelaide Strikers on January 2," the statement said.

"Hasnain’s bowling action was due to be tested at Cricket Australia’s ICC-approved facility in Brisbane within the mandated 14-day timeframe and before his departure from Australia.

"However, after he and others were recalled early by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), it was agreed he would conduct his test at their approved facility in Lahore.

"As the initial report was made during a KFC Big Bash League match, Cricket Australia will review and verify the report provided by the PCB’s testing facility.

"The league thanks Hasnain, the Thunder and the PCB for their cooperation in this matter."

Hasnain was involved in a heated confrontation with Moises Henriques on Saturday night, with the Sydney Sixers captain saying 'nice throw mate' after being bumped by the Pakistani quick.

Hasnain isn't the first Thunder player to be subject to testing for his action, with captain Chris Green banned for 90 days a couple of years ago

Thunder will be without the quick for the finals series, with Hasnain returning for PSL duties.
