Lewis Hamilton will be present as Mercedes launch their new car at an event at Silverstone on February 18th.

Hamilton has been in hiding ever since the contentious Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, during which he was robbed of a record-breaking eighth world championship by race director Michael Masi and his lust for drama.

There has been a lingering question mark over his continuation in the sport, with Hamilton likely to be completely disillusioned with Formula 1 and the FIA. You could understand if he decided to call time on his career at this point.

However, as is reported by The Sun, Mercedes will be launching their car for the new season at a digital event at Silverstone on February 18th – and Hamilton WILL be attending virtually with new teammate George Russell.

That is, if not confirmation, a strong suggestion that Hamilton will be part of the Mercedes team competing in next year’s F1 season, which will come as welcome news to his fans, of which there are a few.

It would be a bitter way for Hamilton to end what has been a glittering career, so it’s good to hear that the signs are positive. We’d like to see him come back hungrier than ever and challenge Max Verstappen for his crown.
