Borussia Dortmund crashed out of the DFB-Pokal after suffering a 2-1 defeat to 2. Bundesliga side FC St. Pauli on Tuesday.

Borussia Dortmund’s defence of the DFB-Pokal is over following a well deserved 2-1 defeat to FC St. Pauli. It was an abject performance from the Black and Yellows, who looked nervous and overawed by the occasion right from the start. Dortmund never looked like winning the game and the Kiezkicker put in a spirited performance to advance to the DFB-Pokal quarterfinals at their expense.

The DFB-Pokal presented Borussia Dortmund with their best chance of winning silverware this season. So to deliver an abject performance like they did against St. Pauli is unacceptable. This is a result that will no doubt sting for weeks to come.

Here are our player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from their 2-1 defeat to St. Pauli.

Gregor Kobel (6/10)

Kobel wasn’t at fault for either of the St. Pauli goals. And he also made a couple of good saves to prevent them from doing further damage.
