In the conversation, Mendes said: 'The best thing for Joao Félix would be Manchester City for Guardiola . It will be the most expensive signing in Portuguese football.'

The 22-year-old eventually moved to Atletico for £113million from Benfica in 2019.

Felix has played a bit-part role over the course of this season for Diego Simeone.

The attacker found the back of the net in their defeat to Athletic Bilbao in the Super Coppa on Thursday.

According to reports in Spain, there's no chance of the forward leaving the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano in January or in the summer.
