As Dying Light 2: Stay Human‘s release creeps ever closer, we’re getting more videos gearing us up for the open world zombie adventure.

Despite the final Dying 2 Know episode taking place last week, today we’ve got a new Dying 2 Know More episode on the game’s parkour. In a sit-down chat with lead game designer Tymon Smektala, we learn about some of the moves hero Aiden Caldwell will have at his disposal.

The Techland team worked with plenty of real life parkour experts to ensure their in-game parkour was up to scratch, including ‘father of parkour’ David Belle. Of course, some things had to move away from realism in order to allow everyone to have fun. This included changes to the field of view, and Aiden also ‘hangs’ in the air a little longer than humans do. This is so players can make an informed decision on where to go next.

It seems this slow motion also helped the team eliminate motion sickness, which was a high priority for the team. Interestingly, we also learn that the game’s physics engine in the previous game simulated about twice the value of Earth’s real-world gravity. This time around, gravity is set much closer to a scientifically accurate figure. As a result, movement may feel a little different in the sequel, but the team hope it’ll feel more natural.
