Receive, Restore, and Rebuild is the goal of a new women’s ministry to help those who have been abused.
The Lima Kiwanis Club hearing about “Mending the Soul,” a support group understanding and healing abuse through faith-based programming. Abuse can come in many forms including verbal, emotional, physical, and sexual. The ministry promotes a safe and confidential environment to find a healing path.
Women’s Ministries Director at Grace Community Church Lynne McKenzie adds,” What’s great about the Mending the Soul model is that it’s a research bases, faith-based support group for women to help them heal from forms of abuse. And what we really want to do is help families to be healthy so that we’re not passing on patterns of abuse from one generation to another.”
