Prosecutors still have not filed charges against the 14-year-old suspected shooter of Hunter High School students Paula Tahi, Tivani Lopati, and Ephraim Asiata.

Tahi and Lopati died on Thursday, January 13. Asiata is in the hospital in critical but stable condition.

Court officials confirmed that prosecutors are required to charge juvenile suspects within five working days of them being detained, after which they need to request an extension from the court or release the suspect from juvenile detention.

In the West Valley shooting incident, prosecutors would need to file charges, or extend the suspect's stay, by Thursday, January 20th.

The Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office would not confirm or deny whether they are going to request the case be transferred to district court or if county prosecutors are planning to charge the suspect as an adult.
